Hana's Import Goods
Cross-platform e-commerce application facilitating seamless international trade and inventory management.

The problem
Hana's Import Goods sells imported products. Customers order items that move through several steps before they arrive: ordering, buying, shipping and delivery. Before the app, orders were tracked by hand in chat threads and spreadsheets. Because of that:
Customers kept asking "where's my order?" They couldn't check the status themselves.
Staff updated status by hand, one order at a time. Mistakes happened as volume grew.
Security deposits, shipping choices, and order notes lived in different places. Nobody had one reliable record.
The business needed one system that both customers and staff could use, on the devices they already had.
Our approach
We built one Flutter app that runs on iOS, Android and Windows. Customers use it on their phones, and staff can work from a desktop.
Firebase is the whole backend. There's no custom server to host or maintain. It covers sign-in, the order database, photo storage, push notifications and crash reporting.
Each product category has its own order steps. An order moves forward one status at a time. Some steps need admin approval, or need a shipping option picked before the order can move on.
Orders can be merged. Several orders going to the same destination can be combined into one shipment, then split again or cancelled if plans change.
Different roles see different things. Customers see only their own orders. Admins and super admins get tools for updating many orders at once, reverting, cancelling and adding notes. Individual staff can also be given specific features without changing their whole role.
Every change is logged. The app records who created, updated, reverted or rejected each order.
The app is protected and monitored. Firebase App Check blocks fake versions of the app on iOS and Android. Crashlytics reports crashes so they can be fixed quickly.
Releases are automated. Pushing a version tag builds the Android app and sends it to Google Play.
Result
The app is live on 3 platforms from one codebase: iOS, Android, and Windows with its own installer.
Customers check their order status themselves in the app, instead of asking staff.
Staff manage orders, customers, categories, security deposits and announcements in one place, and can export reports to Excel.
Old orders are archived automatically, so the active order list stays fast.
It has been in active use and development for 2 years (Oct 2024 to Sep 2026), with 43 releases so far.
Crash reports drive the fixes. Recent updates fixed specific crashes found in real use, and brought back support for Android 10 phones.
